Test Google PageSpeed Insights with specific plugins (without affecting the live site)

You can analyze your site’s performance with Google PageSpeed Insights (PSI) using a specific set of active plugins, all without changing the experience for your live visitors.

To perform this check:

  • Go to Freesoul Deactivate Plugins => Singles => Pages.
  • Click the “+” icon next to the page you wish to test. This will open the Actions Panel as shown in the following image: Action buttons
  • Click the Google PageSpeed icon:

Once the scan is complete, you will see the official report. Only the plugins you have checked in your FDP settings will be active during this test.

Important Notes:

No Cache: To ensure accuracy, pages are never served from the cache when generating this preview report.

Comparison Tool: Because the cache is disabled, your “real-world” performance with caching enabled may be higher. Use this tool primarily to compare configurations and identify which specific plugins are negatively impacting your scores.

Other Content Types: To test blog posts or custom post types, navigate to Singles => Posts or Singles => [Your Post Type] and follow the same steps.

In the example below, only Flying Pages, Freesoul Builder, WP Sticky Sidebar, and Yoast SEO are active for the PageSpeed Insights preview.

You can even run this test while your website is in “Maintenance” or “Coming Soon” mode. To do so, simply ensure the plugin managing the maintenance mode is unchecked in your test selection.
